Qualification

The membership of PPAGL shall consist of such individuals, firms, partnerships, corporations and institutions as may be eligible under the various classifications described in this Article and who meet all the requirements stipulated in the same. members shall be entitled to such services and privileges as shall be adopted for their respective classification by the Board of Directors and/or the majority vote of the membership in properly authorized meetings and also should adhere to the PPA Code of Ethics.

Classifications

Active: An individual who is available for photographic or photography related assignments on a regular basis and derives a portion of his/her earned income from photography and satisfies all federal, state, and local business regulations.
Aspiring: An individual who occasionally may derive some income from photography related services but has not attained a functional business status.
Studio Support: An individual who is associated with an active member in a support capacity. This includes, but is not limited to, staff photographers, clerks, secretaries, buyers, office managers and public relations persons.
Sponsor: This includes manufacturers and/or distributors of photographic equipment and photographic laboratory equipment, publishers and firms providing services to the professional photographer.
Student: Any currently enrolled in an academic program and has a desire or interest in photography.
Lifetime: Membership bestowed to an individual or member who has given outstanding service to PPAGL and to the photographic profession. This membership is given only at the discretion of the majority of the Board of Directors.

PPAGL Code of Ethics

I, as a requirement for admission to and retention of membership and participation in the Professional Photography Association of Greater Louisville, Inc., agree to strive at all times to upgrade and improve my knowledge and skill of professional photography, marketing and related areas.

In all my dealings with users of photography and the general public, I will:
A. Strive to present all photographic services in surroundings and in a manner that reflects the highest levels of professionalism;
B. Use the highest levels of honesty, professionalism and integrity;
C. Not use any marketing or competitive practice which violates any Federal Trade Commission, or other Federal or State regulatory agency rule or regulation, or Federal or State statute or any decision of any Federal or State Court
D. In all dealings with fellow professional photographers, students and others who aspire to professional photographer, I shall share the knowledge and skill of professional photography;
E. Support efforts for and assist in the education of all interested persons and the general public in the art and science of professional photography.
